Ramona is the second child of four born to Roy and Medora. She was born in Medford, Minnesota. Her family moved to Owatonna when Ramona was ten. She spent the remainder of her adolescent years in Owatonna. Ramona has one older sister and a younger sister and brother.
Ramona's father was an electrical operating engineer at a power plant and her mother was a homemaker and seamstress. Both her parents are of German heritage. Her father completed the eighth grade and her mother was a high school graduate.
Ramona has a BS degree in teaching. She currently lives in St. James, Minnesota, where she works one day per week as the financial secretary at First Lutheran Church in St. James.
