Suzzanne is one of the younger participants in the Coming of Age in Minnesota in the 20th Century project. Although she is half the age of many of the other participants, her stories were interesting and reflective of a girl growing up in the 1960s and 70s.
We were fortunate to have Suzzanne share her stories of growing up with the enthusiasm and willingness that she gave. Whether she told us about daily chores or one of the most embarrassing moments in adolescence, her stories were interesting and special.
As a group, we agreed that we enjoyed getting to know Suzzanne through the interview and looking at pictures and keepsakes she has kept over the years. It was also nice to be able to relate some of Suzzanne's stories to the readings and discussions our class had throughout the semester. Some of Suzzanne's stories are much like those of girls growing up eighty years ago or in the present day.
Although some aspects of the project, such as the technical steps to finalize the project, were challenging, we were able to work efficiently and successful as a group.
We hope that the visitors to this site find Suzzanne's story, along with the others, as interesting, thought provoking, and valuable as we did.
