Throughout this experience, we as a group have learned many interesting things from interviewing Terry. Coming into this project our group was very hesitant on the questions we would be asking Terry. Terry is a unique interviewee, she is unlike most of the other women who were interviewed; she experienced life in a way some people could never imagine. She went through some of the hardest struggles and dealt with a lot of pain. When doing the interview we realized that even though Terry may not have been as educated as other women and may not have wanted to talk much about her childhood, she was probably the best candidate we could have ever had for this project. After hearing Terry and her experience growing up, I think we all realized how much we take for granted everyday. Growing up as a woman for Terry really wasn't much different from her peers, who were mostly men. She was a tomboy who enjoyed riding motorcycles, hanging out with her brothers and just wanting to be whom she really was, not caring about anyone else, or what anyone else thought. We as a group hope that when you listen to Terry's story you will sit and just imagine your life in her shoes. She is an amazing woman who is extremely strong and has survived a very rough past. Terry has taught our group that it is never okay to judge someone based on their past, especially if you really don't know who they are as a person. Many different women have their own stories and we truly hope you enjoyed hearing Terry's.
