Spring MSU Student Subscription ticket packages are available January 12!

Minnesota State University students are eligible for music concert ticket discounts. These discounts are offered only to current MSU students possessing a valid MavCard.

Discount ticket subscription packages are ONLY available for purchase at the Music Box Office, Earley Center for Performing Arts 227. Please do so during posted Box Office hours. Box Office hours are Monday and Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM, Tuesday from 12:00 - 1:00 and Thursday from 12:00-2:00 PM.

Discount ticket subscription packages are NOT available online.

There are several ways for students to take advantage of ticket discount offers.

  • Students will receive a substantial discount by pre-purchasing online or at the Box Office for one concert. You can not pre-purchase a ticket package online, you can only purchase for individual concerts online. You are able to pre-purchase online until 12:00 PM the day of the concert. At that time, online pre-purchases are no longer available for the concert taking place on that day.
  • Students will realize more savings by pre-purchasing a minimum of three concert tickets for three separate concert events (only at the Music Box Office)
  • Save even more by pre-purchasing four or more concert tickets for four or more separate concert events (only at the Music Box Office)

These discounts apply only to MSU student priced tickets. Discounts do not apply to a group of three or more MSU students purchasing for one concert. Discounts do not apply to General Admission, or K-12 and children priced tickets.

No refunds, exchanges or substitutions of your ticket order. Your ticket order is valid only for the event for which it is issued.

Sonny Knight and The Lakers

Sonny Knight was born in Mississippi in 1948, moved to St. Paul as a youngster and took to music. In the ‘60s Sonny Knight released his first record, Tears On My Pillow. Then music took a backseat to a three-year call of duty in the army. He returned to Minnesota in the mid-70s and joined the band Haze. Like many other groups, opportunities for them dried up in the 1980s, and he found a full time job as a truck driver. Musical work came again in the 1990s with a couple different groups. Now he has had a comeback with his high-energy new band, The Lakers, with their retro R&B sound, and a debut album.
