Martha Lindberg studied oboe with Barbara Wood at the University of Missouri, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Music, and with DeVere Moore at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, earning a Master of Music in Music History. Ms. Lindberg has taught oboe lessons and courses in music fundamentals and theory at Minnesota State University, Mankato and at Bethany Lutheran College. She has played oboe and English horn regularly with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Valley Chorale Orchestra, the Minnesota Valley Wind Symphony, and University ensembles. She has appeared as a recorder soloist and English horn soloist with the Mankato Symphony and she has worked as a local music contest adjudicator. Martha enjoys being a member of the Celtic Band with local harpist Amy Kortuem and has been featured on two of Amy's CDs. Martha is a long-time member of the Mankato Area Municipal Band and serves on its board of directors. Other interests include performing in Riverbend Bells, Mankato's auditioned community handbell choir, directing the Grace and Power Handbell Choir of Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato, and lending Web support to the MSU Department of Music and the Mankato Children's Chorus.
