Dr. Moxness is a woodwind specialist and performer on saxophone, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon. He holds a Master of Music in Performance Saxophone Performance from Northwestern University where he studied with Dr. Frederick Hemke. His Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Performance and Pedagogy is from the University of Iowa. He studied saxophone with Dr. Ronald Tyree; clarinet with Dr. Maurita Murphy Mead; oboe with Dr. James Lakin; and bassoon with Mark Avery. Present duties at Minnesota State University, Mankato include teaching courses in Music Education and private applied saxophone. He is active as a soloist, clinician and adjudicator, and he is a member of MENC.
