If you are interested in earning a performance degree, please see our undergraduate or graduate programs.

You can take lessons in the following areas:

  • Voice (traditional and contemporary styles of singing)
  • Keyboard (piano, harpsichord, and organ)
  • Orchestral Strings (violin, viola, cello, and double bass)
  • Woodwinds (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon)
  • Brasses (trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba)
  • Percussion (set, mallets, snare drum, timpani, etc.)
  • Guitar (classical guitar, electric guitar, and electric bass)

Lessons are required for music degrees (both for majors and minors). They are sometimes available to non-majors if they perform in a music ensemble.

Non-music majors are welcome in any Minnesota State, Mankato ensemble. Please contact an ensemble director if you are interested.
