The Marriage of Figaro Spring 2009.

The Opera Theatre was established in the fall of 2005 upon the engagement of operatic baritone Dr. Kimm Julian.  His rich and successful career has enhanced the program in the music department through his voice teaching and stage experience.

The opera theatre meets both fall and spring semesters with a major production each year.  To date the department has presented Hansel and Gretel, The Abduction from the Seraglio, Carmen and The Marriage of Figaro. The fall semester is typically dedicated to presenting scenes and learning stagecraft. However, this fall Dominic Argento’s one act opera Christopher Sly is the main emphasis.

The Opera theatre is open to all  students who audition. It is a credited course and meets Tuesday and Thursday from 4-5:30 and Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30.

For more information on the program or for an audition contact Dr. Kimm Julian, Director of Opera Theatre and Voice teacher.
