Personal Safety Alert - Sexual Assault

On Tuesday evening (09/15/2015), University Security took a report of an alleged sexual assault that occurred at Crawford Residence Community on the previous Thursday (09/10/2015). The suspect was an acquaintance of the victim, and has been identified to University officials. Law enforcement has been notified of the incident. University officials are investigating.

Personal Safety Alert - Weapon Threat

Late last night, 10/07/2015, an individual was walking in the stairwell of Julia Sears Residence Community and bumped into a female. The female that was bumped into allegedly brandished a knife and stated that if it happened again that she would kill the other individual. Police and University officials have been notified and are investigating.

Personal Safety Alert- Aggravated Assault (Gunshots fired)

Early morning on Sunday, 10/11/2015, University Security received a report of gunshots from a vehicle towards another vehicle adjacent to campus. A Star Alert text message stating to "shelter in place" was sent to the University community. A follow up Star Alert text message was sent from the University to end "shelter in place".

Personal Safety Alert- Assault

Early this morning, 01/31/2016, the Mankato Police received a report of an assault that occurred in a neighborhood near the southeast side of campus (Lot 23, aka Free Lot). Below is a press release with details from the city of Mankato. ---- Mankato-Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating three white male suspects ages 25-35 years old in connection with assaults that happened between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. this morning in the area of Woodhaven Circle, Joseph Path, East Hudson Avenue and Serra Street. In two of the incidents victims were physically assaulted, and in one incident a handgun was displayed. Victims assaulted were walking and nothing was stolen. One victim required hospitalization with non-life-threatening injuries. Suspects fled the scene before police arrived. Description: • one male, approximate height five feet ten inches with a stocky build and short, blonde hair • second male six foot one inch tall with slender build, dark hair and a goatee • third male has dark hair and a smaller build Suspect vehicle is described as a red pickup with wrap around brush guard and amber lights on cab with several stickers on the back window including a large, white "D" in the center.

Personal Safety Alert - Burglary

On Tuesday evening, December 8th 2015, Residential Life staff along with the Mankato Police Department, received a report of a burglary at Stadium Heights Apartments. The residents reported that two males entered their unlocked apartment. One of the residents was home and heard the two males. The two males told the resident that they were associated with the roommate that was not present at the time. The two males stated they were there to pick up property, and proceeded to take possessions belonging to the roommate that was not present. The roommate that was not present states that no such arrangement had been made, and the items had been stolen. One of the suspects is described as being approximately 5’7”, and weighing approximately 155 lbs., thinning hair, and wearing a black pea coat. The second suspect could not be described by the witness.
