This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week. In preparation for severe weather, and as part of the Minnesota Severe Weather Awareness Week, University Security will be issuing a test alert via the University Public Address System at 1:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. today Thursday (April 20, 2017). The city of Mankato will also be sounding the outdoor warning sirens.
University Security and the Mankato Police have received multiple reports of vehicles being damaged in University parking lots. One vehicle that drove away from lot 16 was reported to have a flat tire, and another vehicle is reported to have had a tire fall off while driving. Residents are encouraged to inspect tires and lug nuts before driving vehicles. The damage seems to be happening during the night in lot 16. If you have any information about who is responsible for this damage please notify University Security or the Mankato Police. If you notice suspicious behavior in a parking lot, do not hesitate to call University Security (507-389-2111). The intentional damage of property is both a crime and in violation of the Statement of Student Responsibilities. If you would like to share information to University Security anonymously, please use our online Silent Witness Report. http://www.mnsu.edu/security/silentwitnessreport.html
