Condolences to family, friends of Kevin Szarzynski

The University community extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of student Kevin Joseph Szarzynski, who died Sunday, April 2. A condolences and information web page is at http://www.mnsu.edu/remember/.

Minnesota State University, Mankato student Kevin Joseph Szarzynski, 20, Eden Prairie, died Sunday, April 2.

Mankato Department of Public Safety staff, responding to a 911 call from a suicidal male, found the student lying on the ground below the visiting team scouting box on the east side of Blakeslee Field stadium. First responders provided medical treatment and the victim was transported to Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Mankato police do not suspect foul play.

President Richard Davenport extends the University community's deepest condolences to Kevin's family, friends and acquaintances on behalf of the students, faculty, staff and administrators.
