Minnesota State Mankato storm chasers Joshua Jans and Scott Winter were in the heart of the Aug. 24 storm that produced numerous tornado touchdowns causing extensive damage in south central Minnesota. Their photos and video footage illustrate some of the destruction.
Jans' and Winter's journey began with the first touchdown near Nicollet, Minn., when a tornado quickly touched down near Hwy. 14. They tracked more than a half dozen touchdowns near St.Peter, Kasota and Cleveland, with their journey coming to an end east of Faribault.
