Mathematica software available for MSU users

Thanks to a site license available for all Minnesota State Mankato faculty, staff and students, the powerful math software Mathematica can now be installed on personal and/or office computers. Detailed information about the features of Mathematica are available online.
Student access to Mathematica
If you are on campus and logged onto the network, open your MavDisk directory, and copy and paste the path below in your MavDisk window address bar:
\\Mavdisk\MSU\software\MSU_Community\Mathematica
Then:
- Select the folder with the platform your computer needs, Mac or Windows.
- Open the instruction document
- Double-click on the installation file
- Follow instructions on screen, and use the instruction document as required
Note: if you are off campus, you may still download the software, but you will need a broad-band internet connection.
- Log onto the virtual private network using your MavAccount username and password
- Click the Show Toolbar icon
on the small toolbar that appears in the upper right of your browser window.
- When the new navigation window opens on the right side of your web browser, copy and paste the URL above into the "Enter Network Path" box.
- Click the "Go" button
- Select the folder with the platform your computer needs, Mac or Windows.
- Download both documents in the directory you opened, saving them to your desktop or a convenient, easy-to-locate folder on your computer
- Locate the downloaded files on your computer
- Open the instruction document
- Double-click on the installation file
- Follow instructions on screen, and use the instruction document as required
