Burglary suspect sought
At approximately 4:40 a.m. today, the Mankato Department of Public Safety responded to a burglary that occurred at 103 Thayer Avenue.
A male, who was sleeping inside the residence, heard noise coming from the living room area and went to see what it was. He found a male standing in the living room. The suspect pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded his property. The victim complied, went back into his room, left the residence and alerted a neighbor who then called police. The victim was not injured during the incident. Other individuals were in the residence sleeping when the burglary occurred but were not awakened. After officers arrived, the residence was searched and items were discovered missing.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a slender build. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and white ski mask.
