On Saturday, February 18th and Sunday, February 19th, the MSU, Mankato speech and debate team traveled to Bethel University in St. Paul to compete in the Minnesota Collegiate Forensics Association State Tournament. Eleven Mavericks represented MSU in a tough competition against 11 other programs in the state.
Here are the accomplishments from the weekend:
Caitlin Frymet & Nathan Pasmore – 7th place in Duo Interpretation
Ryan Zahn – 6th place in Prose Interpretation
Lillian Lamoreux – 6th place in Program Oral Interpretation
Brad Wakefield – 6th place in After Dinner Speaking
Brad Wakefield – 5th place in Informative Speaking
Ryan Zahn – 4th place in Impromptu Speaking
Nathan Pasmore – 3rd place in Prose Interpretation
Ryan Zahn – 3rd place in After Dinner Speaking
Jordan Christiansen & Ryan Zahn – 2nd place in Duo Interpretation
Ryan Zahn – 2nd place in Communication Analysis
Jordan Christiansen – State Champion in After Dinner Speaking
Jordan Christiansen – State Champion in Informative Speaking
In addition, the following individuals were recognized with top speaker awards:

Ryan Zahn – 2nd place in Individual Sweepstakes
The combined success of the Mavericks also landed them 3rd in the state!
