Minnesota State Mankato Dam Bike Ride - June 22

Everyone will meet at the fountain on campus and we will make the trek 24 miles to The Dam Store for some pie and H2O. With sugar-filled, water jigging bellies, we will turn around and make the trip back!

MANKATO, Minn. – Student Activities hosts the Dam Bike Ride at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

This event will involve riding bikes out to Rapidan Dam and back, with a stop for pie at The Dam Store. So grab your bike and a hearty appetite for pie and head on over to the front of the CSU on Wednesday, June 22 at 3 p.m.

Ashley, Assistant Director of Student Activities and the coordinator for the event, said “The Dam Bike Ride is a program that started before I joined the Student Activities team in 2011, and has really become a staple of our summer programming. The best part of the event is that it brings members of the campus community and the greater Mankato community together, which people must enjoy, as more and more people show up each year.”

The Dam Bike Ride has been an activity that members of the community have looked forward to for over 7 years and has gained more people every year. This 24-mile round trip bike ride is a fun way to exercise and a great excuse to eat some fantastic pie! Everyone, whether they be students, members of the greater Mankato community, friends, or family are welcome to join in on this free event.

The Dam Bike Ride is a part of a summer programming series sponsored by the Centennial Student Union and Student Activities. Other events include an organized car wash, outdoor films, BBQ demonstrations, and other events. All events are free to the public. Student Activities has 5 full-time staff and 4 graduate students who provide guidance and planning for 230+ student groups, geek life, community engagement, and campus wide programming.
