MANKATO — Disney is known for magic. It’s also known as having one of the most successful business plans that’s made it a top corporation for decades.
In 2010, Fortune magazine recognized Disney as the world’s most admired company for quality.
The Disney secrets will be available to Mankato area business people Sept. 24 at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
“They’re a big-time program. We’re excited to bring them to the Mankato community instead of people having to go to Florida for it,” said Jean Clarke, coordinator of Continuing & Professional Education at Minnesota State Mankato.
Disney’s Approach to Quality Service is a one- day seminar that will be at the Centennial Student Union on Sept. 24.
“We chose quality service as the topic because ultimately anybody who has a job works with some sort of customer,” Clarke said. “If you have quality service your customers are happier.” Disney will demonstrate how anticipating and reacting to customers’ needs, wants, and emotions is an integral aspect of delivering quality service and achieving business results.
“Delivering great service is critical for companies looking to survive and prosper,” said Jeff James, vice president for Disney Institute. “ This program is a rare opportunity to go inside the Disney organization and learn innovative, easy-to-implement best practices that can give them the competitive edge.”
Participants will learn how to exceed customer expectations using a welldefined service infrastructure, ongoing research and service standards.
“In an era where everyone is competing for business and market share, excellent customer service isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity,” James said. “This program is made for organizations large and small.”
The Disney Institute hasn’t visited Minnesota in a decade and Disney usually holds the seminars in major cities in the U.S. and worldwide. They also offer the programs at their Disney properties.
Program registration is $349 per person (early bird rate) through Sept. 5; $449 per person from Sept. 6-20; and $499 per person from Sept. 21-24.
