9:00 a.m. Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Paulsen Architects has been utilizing BIM technology for well over 5 years and now have integrated our structural, civil, and landscape services into the software program. We are considered the industry leaders in BIM technology in southern Minnesota and continue to explore the many facets that this software offers.
Paulsen Architects will demonstrate how this software has streamlined our delivery of projects, eliminate clash potential with our consultants, and has been an invaluable 3-dimensional tool to help our clients visualize the building potential.
10:00 a.m. On Site Laser Scanning Technology
Dustin Harr (Precision Technologies) What is behind these walls? What is the opening size of that doorway? We can use a 3D laser scanner to document these areas without a site visit. We can then have a “point cloud” for all parties to use for both immediate and future needs.
11:00 a.m. Electrochromatic Glazing Technology
Tim Finley (Sage Electrochromatics) will discuss this dynamic window glass. It changes tint electronically to enliven building interiors with natural daylight while regulating heat, glare and fading. This glass technology allows greater design freedom of buildings that are not only sustainable, but also enhances the livelihood and well-being of occupants without the constraints of problematic sun controls such as shades, blinds and louvers.
