MANKATO, MN. The Barley Jacks, a Minnesota-based folk and bluegrass quartet, will perform on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.
Front-man and fiddle player Brian Wicklund will be joined by Joe Cruz on guitar; Kevin Rowe, upright bass; and Joel Arpin, percussion. The group performs a blend of original bluegrass, Celtic, and roots music played with acrobatic skill. Some of their musical influences are Stuart Duncan, Natalie MacMaster, Tim O¹Brien, and Ben Winship.
St. Peter native Brian Wicklund is especially looking forward to this show and is “excited to play on my home turf.”
Concert admission is $15; $13 for students with a valid MavCARD. Discount tickets are available online for MSU students. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged.
