The award-winning play, "The Vagina Monologues," will be performed at 7 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday, Feb. 14-15, in Minnesota State University, Mankato's Ostrander Auditorium.

Cost to attend is $5 for students and $8 for non-students and the general public.

The play is based on V-Day founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. For 15 years, "The Vagina Monologues" has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.

Variety Magazine calls the performance "spellbinding, funny, and almost unbearably moving . .. it is both a work of art and an incisive piece of cultural history, a poem and a polemic, a performance and a balm and a benediction."

Sponsors of the 2013 event are The Violence Awareness and Response Program, the Women's Center and Department of Residential Life from on campus in partnership with the following community partners: YWCA of Mankato, Cactus Tattoo, The Coffee Hag, Mecca Tattoo and Pub 500.
