National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Feature Presentations

Make Mankato a better place...participate!

The face of hunger and poverty looks back at us each day in the mirror.  Join us mid-week during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week as we bring two captivating presentations to campus!

On Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 7 p.m. -    9 p.m. join us in Ostrander Auditorium to view A Place at the Table. This captivating documentary meshes facts and figures with the true face of hunger in our nation. An official choice at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, this film shows viewers how hunger poses serious economic, social and cultural implications for our nation and conveys that it could be solved once and for all.

Then on Thursday, November 21, 2013 join us in the Wiecking Auditorium from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. to hear Keith McHenry, Founder of Food Not Bombs, as he shares information about his organization and ways that we can promote peace as we reach out to those managing food insecurity.

We hope to see you here as we continue gaining inspiration on ways that we can enhance our own student driven hunger relief efforts!

National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Exhibit

Join us November 18th - 22 for our third annual exhibit as we celebrate the power of community collaboration and the resiliency of our neighbors managing hunger and poverty! An exhibit featuring our individual and collective effort will be established in the lower level of the Centennial Student Union.  Student Volunteers are needed to learn about this work, its outcomes and to share our unified vision with other students and campus visitors through festive games, talents, ideas and student lead activities.  Check out our ever evolving lineup  and give some thought on how you can support Student Driven Hunger Relief!   .

For MSU events: individuals with a disability, who need reasonable accommodation to participate in this event, are asked to contact the Office of Accessibility Resources at 507-389-2825 (V/TTD), 800-627-3529 or 711 (MRS/TTD) at least five days prior to the event.
