Feb. 13: Project Management Expert
Bruce Bong to discuss introduction to project management.

Mankato, Minn. – Bruce Bong, a project management expert with nine years of progressive leadership experience, will give a presentation titled “Change the Way You Think: Introduction to Project Management” on Thursday, Feb. 13 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Room 101 of Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Centennial Student Union.
Bong’s presentation is free and open to the public. At 5:30 p.m., prior to his presentation, there will be a light dinner (no cost) and an opportunity to network. Please RSVP for the dinner by sending an email in advance to email@example.com.
In Bong’s presentation, project management credentials and how to be certified will be discussed along with an overview of project management; business fundamentals; project fundamentals; cultural awareness and limitations; balancing roles and responsibilities across most types of organizations; types of users; stakeholders; clients and team members; the strengths and weaknesses over one’s career; the importance of change; and next steps.
In addition to his leadership experience, Bong has 20 years of experience in the Information Technology field. His expertise spans outsourcing, off shoring, mergers, consulting, vendor management, change management, PMO, ITIL, PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and the military (including top secret security clearance). He has been responsible for managing global projects with geographically disbursed resources.
The event is sponsored by the Southwest Outreach Program, which is part of the Minnesota Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI-MN). The mission of PMI-MN, according to its website, is to provide value to members and the community through opportunities for career development and to advocate the advancement of the project management profession and its disciplines.
