Minnesota State University, Mankato has a lot to offer, including two observatories on the southern edge of campus (Andreas Observatory and Standeford Observatory).

Students in Astronomy and Earth Science classes use the observatories regularly, but they are also open for public use. Standeford Observatory is open regularly during the fall and spring observing sessions. Hours and days may vary with the season, weather, and demand.

  • Fall:
    • Clear evenings
    • Monday-hursday
    • Between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, depending on the onset of winter weather
    • From 8:30pm to 10:30pm
  • Spring:
    • Clear evenings
    • Usually Monday-Thursday
    • During April
    • From 9:00pm to 11:00pm
