Social Justice Film Series Continues for Fall 2015
Student volunteers are invited to reflect on their service experience by viewing and discussing films with themes related to their volunteer work.
Reflect on your service experience by discussing related films.
The Community Engagement Office and the Progressive Independents Club will continue to host the Social Justice Film Series. The films cover various contemporary social justice issues, and the follow up conversations will allow student volunteers to discuss themes of their service that may be reflected in the films. All films will be viewed at 6:30 pm. Locations vary depending upon the date.
The series is not just for current volunteers. Those interested in the films may attend and discuss the film content based on their experience. This is a great way for people considering community engagement to learn from people who are currently serving. Attendees will be asked to follow general civil discourse expectations, which will be shared at the beginning of each program.The films in this series are:
- "Tapped" - September 16, Ostrander
- "Just Eat It: A Story About Food Waste" - September 30, Ostrander
- "A Place At The Table" - October 14, CSU 245
- "Unnatural Causes: Place Matters" - November 11, Ostrander
