Students Participate in Regional Math Competition


Mankato, MN, February 6, 2015 — Local students competed on February 6rd, 2015 in the Regional MATHCOUNTS Competition on the campus of Minnesota State University-Mankato in Mankato, MN.

Over 150 students competed to advance to the State Level in March.

Dustin Simmons from Mankato East placed first in the competition. The second, third, and fourth place individuals respectively were Marshall Mohror, of St. Paul’s Lutheran School; Ian Dittmer, of Mankato East; and Cameron Woodbury, of Ulm High School.

The top team was Mankato East. The second and third place teams were Saint Paul’s Lutheran, and Martin County West respectively.

The top four individuals and top three teams all advance to the State Competition being held in St. Paul.

The chapter competition is organized by the members of the Traverse Des Sioux Chapter of the MN Society of Professional Engineers and the Minnesota Center for Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence.
