Agarwal Wins Award

Minnesota State Mankato Faculty Member Kuldeep Agarwal Receives  ‘2015 Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer’ Award
Mankato, Minn. – The Society of Manufacturing Engineers has named Minnesota State University, Mankato faculty member Kuldeep Agarwal one of 11 international recipients of the 2015 Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award.

According to its website, since 1980, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) has presented the award to recognize “manufacturing engineers, age 35 or younger, who have made exceptional contributions and accomplishments in the manufacturing industry.”

This year’s awardees, according to a Society of Manufacturing Engineers press release, were selected based on their research and development efforts in emerging manufacturing applications, published works, design ingenuity, entrepreneurship and leadership. Agarwal is the only recipient from a Minnesota college or university.   Agarwal will receive his award during the 43rd SME North American Manufacturing Research Conference that will be held June 8-12 at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.   Agarwal is an assistant professor in the Department of Automotive and Manufacturing Engineering Technology, which is part of Minnesota State Mankato’s College of Science, Engineering & Technology.
