Confirmation Bias Tutorial & Assignment
This activity introduces the concepts of confirmation bias, affirmation vs. information, information bubbles, and cognitive dissonance, along with help you identify your own personal biases
Looking to make your students aware of Confirmation Bias? We have tutorials for that! There are two available for use. First, our Confirmation Bias Tutorial is a complete lesson with questions estimated to take 45 min - 1 hour. It comes complete with Ted Talk and news clips! It works best in a Firefox browser, and could be a great substitute for an at-home class session. Second is our Confirmation Bias Assignment. This shorter assignment (~25 minutes) has students compare articles on coffee to identify their own confirmation biases.
Feel free to contact Jenny Turner if you want these tutorials personalized, or want your class results sent to you!
