Dr. Martha Carlin, Professor of History at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, will visit campus on Wednesday, Nov 4th, 2015 to present her public lecture, "PUtting Dinner on the Table in Chaucer's London".
What was a medieval meal really like, and what logistics went into producing it? What kinds of eveidence survive? Are there any parallels with the culture and practical realities of feeding a household today? Join Professor Carlin for an investigation of food and eating in Chaucer's day, and what it took to put dinner on the table.
