Good Thunder's four-day Eddice B. Barber Visiting Writer Residency: Poet and creative nonfiction writer Jonathan Johnson
Poet and creative nonfiction writer Jonathan Johnson will be here this week for Good Thunder’s 4-day Eddice B. Barber Visiting Writer Residency.
On March 15-18, Johnson will lead a writing workshop at 10 a.m. in CSU, Room 202.
On March 17, he will present a craft talk in Ostrander Auditorium at 3:00 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., he'll give a reading in CSU, Room 245.
Johnson’s poems have appeared in Best American Poetry and numerous other anthologies, as well as recent issues of Southern Review, Ploughshares, North American Review and The Prairie Schooner. His first collection of poetry, “Mastodon, 80% Complete,” was published in 2001 by Carnegie Mellon. His second collection of poems, “In the Land We Imagined Ourselves,” was published in 2010. He is also the author of a memoir, “Hannah and the Mountain: Notes Toward a Wilderness Fatherhood,” published in 2005 by the University of Nebraska Press in its American Lives Series. Johnson is a professor at the Inland Northwest Center for Writers, the MFA program at Eastern Washington University.
