Montandon and Shellum Receive Global Citizens Award
Global Education named Allied Health & Nursing faculty members Kristi Montandon and Renee Shellum Global Citizens Award recipients.
Two faculty members from the College of Allied Health and Nursing received the Global Citizens Award from Minnesota State Mankato’s Global Education: Kristi Montandon, assistant professor of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services and Renee Shellum, assistant professor and Audiology Clinic director.
Montandon developed a study abroad course and uses a commercial cruise ship as her classroom. She was recognized for cultivating students' understanding of commercial recreation and tourism on an international level.
Shellum built strong connections in San Pedro, Belize where Minnesota State Mankato Communication Disorders students provide speech and hearing assessments for local children twice a year. The practice gives students the opportunity to expand their cultural sensitivity and awareness.
