Minnesota State University Mankato [Department of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services] kicks off the first ever 'Spring Into Action' event highlighting opportunities for people with disabilities.
Everything from life–size Pac–Man to nine square in the air, and bowling are part of the fun, while also providing information on a number of activities for those with disabilities.
"We're already very strong advocates for people with disabilities, so getting the college involved in that is essential, and the college does a great job with the accessibility resource center, but it provides more opportunities for people to be involved within the community, and here on campus," Jordain Hansen, group coordinator.
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services is part of Minnesota State Mankato’s College of Allied Health and Nursing.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 15,193 students, is part of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities system, which comprises 31 state institutions.
For MSU events: individuals with a disability, who need reasonable accommodation to participate in this event, are asked to contact the Office of Accessibility Resources at 507-389-2825 (V/TTD), 800-627-3529 or 711 (MRS/TTD) at least five days prior to the event.
