IT Solutions Brings Services Closer to You

Information Technology is now about more than just services

It's a new name and a new location for better technology service.

IT Solutions, formerly IT Services, is changing more than its name: we're changing our whole approach to providing technology-powered solutions and services for Minnesota State University, Mankato. Beginning August 1, you can find technology solutions and support in the Academic Computing Center on the first floor of Wissink Hall, and in the Wigley Administration Building instead of the 3rd floor of Memorial Library. These new locations are closer for most University faculty members, staff and students to find the technology solutions they need.

In addition to the new locations, the new IT Solutions Centers, formerly the IT Service Desk, will be inviting customers into a more accessible, customer-focused space. This new location gives IT Solutions the opportunity to provide better support than ever before, with greeters who will handle questions and route people to experts for further assistance.

"The new location puts us right at the heart of the campus," said Mark Johnson, CIO and VP for Technology. "Technology is critical to so many aspects of what we do as a campus, we need to be conveniently located, helping provide the solutions our campus needs to create the world-class teaching, learning and applied research that is core to our mission."

Operating hours for the IT Solutions Centers will be:

  • Wissink Building, Academic Computing Center (1st floor):
    • Mon-Thu 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.,
    • Fri 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.,
    • Sat 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.,
    • Sun 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • IT Solutions Center kiosk support (1st floor Wigley Administration Building, between the MavCARD Office and the Cashier's Office):
    • Mon-Fri 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The IT Solutions Center will continue providing service during operating hours by phone at 507-389-6654 and by email at servicedesk@mnsu.edu. Solutions for many questions can also be found online at www.mnsu.edu/its/.
