April 20-25: Spring Music Concerts

Multiple student ensemble concerts will be held in different locations.

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State University, Mankato Department of Music will present multiple student ensemble concerts in April.

The University contemporary vocal ensembles, under the direction of Douglas Snapp, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20. The concert takes place in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

The ensembles will be performing a mix of pop and a cappella tunes.

The University concert bands, under the direction of Amy Roisum Foley, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 21. The concert takes place in the Elias J. Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts, 320 Maywood Ave.

The spring choral concert will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 623 South Broad St., Mankato. The groups, under the direction of Aaron Humble and David Dickau, will sing a variety of selections from English Renaissance art songs to contemporary works, performing a diverse range of music celebrating the rich diversity of the American choral tradition.

The Minnesota State Mankato community orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in Halling Recital Hall of the Earley Center for Performing Arts. The orchestra is comprised of invited area community members along with university student musicians. The ensemble is under the direction of Joseph Rodgers.

Concert admission is $9 and $7 for students with a valid MavCard. Discount tickets are available online for University students. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged. Those who wish to purchase tickets online should go to www.mnsu.edu/music.
