Fellowship awarded to Kathryn Elliott, gerontology director

MANKATO — Kathryn Elliott, director of the Minnesota State University Gerontology Program, has been named a 2004-2005 AGHE Fellow in Gerontology and Geriatrics Education by the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education.

Fellow status is conferred by AGHE to recognize outstanding leadership in gerontology/geriatrics education. Elliott is one of seven individuals nationwide to receive the honor.

Elliott received her Ph.D. in social anthropology from Harvard University in 1990 and joined the MSU faculty in 1998. Elliott was also honored with a Fulbright Scholarship to Denmark in 1983-1984 to complete her dissertation research.
