Thumbs-up to the Minnesota State University Clean Snowmobile Challenge Team for its performance during a 100-mile endurance race in Michigan.
The MSU machine was the only one powered by 85 percent ethanol. Overheating knocked oput most of the other sleds during the first part of the run.
The goal of the 2005 SAE Clean Snowmobile Challenge is to create an engine that is more environmentally friendly. MSU is involved in a worthwhile endeavor and obviously, with students doing well in the competition, it is an educational highlight for these engineering students.
