Rites for Lt. Michael Fasnacht to be held on Friday

First Lt. Michael John Fasnacht, the outstanding MSU ROTC graduate who was killed in Iraq last week, will be buried Friday in St. Ann's Catholic Church Cemetery, Janesville.

JANESVILLE — The Janesville soldier killed in Iraq last week will be buried Friday, June 17, in St. Ann's Catholic Church Cemetery in Janesville.

Services will be Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato.

Michael John Fasnacht, who was 25 when a roadside bomb exploded near the vehicle in which he was riding, will have a full military funeral.

Fasnacht was born and raised in Janesville and attended Minnesota State University. He entered the Army in 2002 and became an Army Ranger in 2004.

He was the 23rd Minnesotan to die in the war with Iraq.
