A statement from Richard Davenport, President, Minnesota State University, Mankato, regarding Gov. Tim Pawlenty's ACHIEVE initiative:
"Gov. Pawlenty's ACHIEVE proposal is incredibly good news for the entire state of Minnesota. It will encourage more of our best and brightest high school students to attend college in Minnesota, and to live and work here.
"The rising cost of higher education makes it increasingly difficult for students and their families to finance a college education and pursue their dreams. If the Legislature were to approve this initiative, Minnesota would rise to the top of the nation in its support for higher education.
