John Kerry has cancelled plans to appear at Taylor Center today in a rally for Congressional candidate Tim Walz.
The rally will still take place as scheduled.
Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, pulled out of today's event in the wake of a controversy created by remarks he gave Monday in California. Walz communication director Meredith Salsbery said Kerry canceled his visit to keep the focus on the issues and away from Kerry's comments.
Doors to the event open at 11 a.m., with music beginning shortly afterward.
