Thumbs up to Minnesota State University and its involvement in training for teachers in the Project Lead the Way program.

The program’s math and science curriculum is for middle and high school students, offering a hands-on, project-and problem-based approach. The teaching institute at MSU — sponsored by the Minnesota Center for Engineering & Manufacturing Excellence, of which MSU serves as the lead university — is a way to keep teachers on top of their game. They need the in- depth training to understand the latest in the ever-changing world of technology.

Project Lead the Way advanced classes are being offered at 135 high schools and middle schools, including in Mankato. It’s good to know that the program is putting muscle behind the program by making sure teachers are ready to deliver top- quality classes.
