An effort by state troopers, Blue Earth County Sheriff’s deputies and Mankato police resulted in 49 tickets being written Friday night, most for underage alcohol consumption.

The NightCap Jr. sweep also led to one citation for disorderly conduct, one for giving false information to police and one for driving after revocation. Mankato police also have been conducting ongoing sweeps around the Minnesota State University campus in the past week looking for underage drinkers. They have issued well over 100 tickets but exact numbers are still being calculated.

Police report that one teen — who was arrested for disorderly conduct after swearing at and enticing police to fight — had a blood-alcohol level of .255 percent, about three times the legal limit to drive.
