From an editorial in The Free Press, Mankato, MN [9/29/2007]

To the city of Mankato and Minnesota State University for teaming up to create a video that teaches young renters about responsibilities and expectations. “Rental Life: The Real Story” is a 20-minute “Real Life” type video that delivers a message from young adults’ perspective. The students in the film learn the hard way that there is more to renting then putting down a damage deposit.

The video was modeled on a project done by Colorado State University, which saw a 46 percent decrease in noise and party complaints in Fort Collins after the city and university beefed up educational and enforcement efforts.

The city of Mankato has already beefed up enforcement efforts. It’s good to see the video as part of the educational efforts.
