Rain doesn't dampen spring commencement for families, friends, graduates

Rain didn't dampen a memorable day as 1,643 students and their families and friends gathered May 10 for spring commencement.

Rain fell from the sky but couldn’t dampen a memorable day as students, family and friends gathered at Bresnan Arena Saturday for spring commencement cermonies at Minnesota State University. Approximately 1,400 undergraduate students received their diplomas.

Ceremonies were held at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. for the colleges of Art and Humanities/Science, Engineering and Technology, Allied Health and Nursing, and Business/Social and Behavioral Sciences. Student speakers included Tysen Dauer, Elizabeth Drommerhausen, Christopher Frederick, Nicole Meulemans, Evangelos Kourkafas, and Shannon Finnegan.
