Two faculty, two students complete diversity research
Two faculty members and two students have completed their research on diversity in higher education â€" research funded by the President’s Commission on Diversity.

Two faculty members and two students have completed their research on diversity in higher education – research funded by the President’s Commission on Diversity.
The four are:
- Susan Freeman, Women’s Studies faculty member, who studied “Education for Gay Liberation: The Emergence of Gay and Lesbian Studies in the 1970s and 1980s”;
- Leah White, director of forensics and Speech Communication faculty member, who took part in an international conference, “Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed”;
- LaTolya Carter, sophomore social work major, who studied abroad in Ghana, West Africa;
- Deborah White, Teacher Licensure Program graduate student, who took part in workshops for teachers of English to speakers of other languages.
The 2007-2008 grants were available to students, faculty or staff to attend conferences or to conduct research related to diversity in higher education.
