Health professonals' seminar on pain relief is Oct. 30

Two continuing education seminars about pain relief for health professionals will be offered Thursday, Oct. 30, at South Central College, North Mankato.

Minnesota State Mankato and South Central College will sponsor the workshops, one from 9 a.m. to noon and the other from 1-4 p.m. The morning session will focus on pain relief through energy healing, and the afternoon session will be about strengthening attendees’ energy fields. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

During the first session, participants will learn how to relieve muscle and joint pain and tension as well as sinus headaches and other painful conditions. Afternoon participants will learn about the human energy system and new techniques for pain relief, including exercise.

Janet Hovde, a certified healing touch practitioner from Roseville with more than 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist, will present both programs. She teaches energy healing, grief self-care and intuition development.

The course offers three contact hours per workshop for RNs and LPNs and a certificate for other professionals. Preregistration deadline is Thursday, Oct. 23. Cost is $48 ($53 after Oct. 23) for one workshop or $90 for both. Attendees must provide their own lunch.
