Alliss Foundation gives $169,200 for undergraduate scholarships

More than 200 scholarships will be distributed to Minnesota State University, Mankato students in the next academic year as the result of a $169,200 grant from the Charles and Ellora Alliss Educational Foundation.

The Charles and Ellora Alliss Scholarships, for full-time undergraduate students from Minnesota, are made available annually at Minnesota State Mankato as the result of an Alliss Educational Foundation gift to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.

Students who submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to Minnesota State University, Mankato by March 15 will receive priority consideration for the scholarships.

Recipients must be Minnesota residents, demonstrate financial need and meet specific grade-point or high school rank criteria.

Each Alliss Scholarship is for $350 to $1,100 per academic year. The foundation was created in 1960 through a bequest from former 3M executive Charles Clifford Alliss. The foundation supports scholarships to Minnesota residents.
