Community leaders in Owatonna along with MSU President Richard Davenport and SCC President Keith Stover welcome a new member to the MnSCU system.

The state of Minnesota purchased The Owatonna College and University Center on the city's southwest side. The building serves Minnesota State University, Mankato, South Central College, and Riverland Community College.

MnSCU officials say the campus is a welcome addition.

James H. McCormikc, MnSCU Chancellor, said "I applaud Riverland Community College, and they've been a historic leader, South Central College, and Minnesota State University Mankato for stepping up to the plate to meet higher education needs in this region. Theirs is an impressive partnership, and I look forward to the center's continued and growing success.''

The school has additional land and hopes to grow the campus in the future.
