A week-long grassroots exhibit supporting veterans, “Warrior to Citizen: Stories of Minnesota’s Most Recent Veterans,” will be hosted by Minnesota State Mankato’s Intercultural Student Center starting Monday, March 23.
An opening reception will be Monday, March 23, from 6-8 p.m. in the Intercultural Student Center (Centennial Student Union Room 269). The exhibit, free and open to all students, faculty, staff and the public, will be on display Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The “Warrior to Citizen” campaign is a statewide grassroots effort providing support to veterans and their families. It was organized by the University of Minnesota’s Center for Democracy and Citizenship.
The multimedia exhibit – developed by volunteers – offers an opportunity for community members to hear first-hand accounts from Minnesota veterans on their return home, rather than hearing stories decades after the conflict.
Those interested in more information about the campus exhibit may contact Amy Mukamuri at (507) 389-5594 or amy.mukamuri@mnsu.edu. More information about the campaign is at www.publicwork.org.
