On 03/29/2009 at 1:46 a.m. MSU Security and the Mankato Police took a report of a physical assault that occurred in the Mall Area of campus.
A female individual was approached by an unknown male that asked for directions. The female provided the directions and the male tried to put his arm around the female. A short time later, the female was again approached by the male who continued to try place his arm around the female. The female pushed his arm off and the male then grabbed the front of her neck with his hand and squeezed. The female was able to hit the male with her bag and get away from the male.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’10” tall, thin build, with short hair, possibly short facial hair, no eye glasses or hat and having a slight accent. The male was wearing long jeans and a grey hooded sweatshirt with “Minnesota State University” and the Maverick Mascot on the front and “TCF” in small purple writing.
