National-champion women's basketball team member Heather Johnson threw the first pitch before nearly 25,000 spectators at the Metrodome Twins game May 12.
“It was pretty exciting,” Johnson said. “I didn’t know how I was going to do it. It’s quite the honor to throw the first pitch in front all those people.”
Johnson, surrounded by teammates and coaches, fired a strike to Michael Cuddyer.
“I think he was surprised how hard she threw it and how accurate she was,” Coach Pam Gohl said.
