Led by the women’s golf team with a grade point average of 3.57, 15 Minnesota State Mankato athletic teams had GPAs of at least 3.00 during the 2009 spring semester.
The total GPA for Minnesota State Mankato's 12 women’s teams (293 student-athletes) was 3.34, while the 11 men’s teams (295 student-athletes) had a 2.94 GPA.
Minnesota State Mankato's 588 student-athletes earned an average 3.17 GPA; 205 student-athletes (34.8 percent) were named to the Dean’s List (at least a 3.40 GPA); and 71 Mavericks maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the semester.
In addition to academic success, 2008-'09 has been a banner season, with the Maverick women’s basketball team capturing the NCAA Division II national title, Minnesota State Mankato claiming the Northern Sun Intercollegiate All-Sports Trophy, and a total of seven Maverick teams claiming NSIC league championships.
The Mavericks ranked second in the last Learfield Director’s Cup national standings, with final rankings for 2008-09 expected to be announced June 19.
