An evening of blues featuring pianist Scottie Miller will be presented Thursday, Sept. 10.
The performance, sponsored by the Department of Music, will be at 7:30 p.m. in Halling Recital Hall in the Performing Arts Center. General admission tickets are $12, and tickets for Minnesota State Mankato students with a valid MavCard are $9.
Miller’s piano-playing rekindles the long-lost styles and spirits of legendary musicians like Professor Longhair, Otis Spann and Pinetop Perkins. Miller was a finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tenn., and in 2007 was nominated for “Best Unsigned Blues Recording.”
